The Role

We are looking for a Dental Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Ormiston-based team! We are looking for a part-time superstar with a passion for people and patient care.

Lumino Ormiston is an experienced and caring team committed to providing the highest quality dental care in a friendly, caring environment. We're a holistically minded practice, understanding that oral health is both a factor and a contributor to overall health, appearance and self-confidence.

Being a multicultural and multi-lingual practice, we are well suited to meet the needs of one of the company's largest catchment areas.

As one of our Dental Assistants, you will work alongside our highly trained clinicians and other dental professionals to provide excellent patient care and support. You will be tasked with supporting our clinicians during various dental procedures and ensuring best practice standards are upheld and the best patient care is provided to every patient. You will also take control of tasks such as sterilisation and infection control, ensuring all instruments and equipment are processed and sterilised following best practice guidelines.

This is a fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You will be someone who enjoys working closely within a team and providing upstanding customer care.

The hours for the role are below:

  • Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:30am - 5:00pm

The Location

Lumino Ormiston Dental Centre is located at Level 2, Ormiston Hospital, 125 Ormiston Road, Flat Bush, Auckland.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Clinicians during dental procedures, such as taking X-rays, sterilising instruments, and preparing materials.
  • Greet patients, review their medical history and answer any questions they may have
  • Maintain accurate patient records and filing systems
  • Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for use
  • Stock and order dental supplies

The Person

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is prefered
  • Knowledge of dental procedures and techniques
  • Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in computer software applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
